🇺🇸 (en-us) UFFeScience Research Group participated in SBPO 2025 in Gramado!

Miguel B. Jehle presented the paper “Between Virtual Machines and Serverless Functions: A Heuristic Approach for Scheduling Scientific Workflows in Cloud Environments”, co-authored with Marcello Ribeiro, UBIRATAM CARVALHO DE PAULA JUNIOR , Yuri Frota, Isabel Rosseti, and Daniel de Oliveira.

The paper introduces the FLEXE heuristic, which schedules scientific workflows in both virtual machines and serverless functions balancing cost and performance.

O aluno Miguel Jehle apresentou o artigo “Entre Máquinas Virtuais e Funções Serverless: Uma Abordagem Heurística para o Escalonamento de Workflows Científicos em Nuvens de Computadores”, desenvolvido com Marcello Ribeiro, Ubiratam Paula, Yuri Frota, Isabel Rosseti e Daniel de Oliveira.

O trabalho propõe a heurística FLEXE, que escalona workflows em máquinas virtuais e funções serverless considerando custo e desempenho.
